Rebuilding Together Philadelphia (RTP) seeks candidates for the full-time position of Executive Director.
OVERVIEW
The Organization
RTP is a volunteer-driven organization that makes essential repairs for low-income homeowners in Philadelphia's most fragile neighborhoods. Skilled and general volunteers focus on the full range of issues that affect homeowners' health and safety with a goal of preserving affordable homeownership. Over the years, RTP volunteers have provided approximately 830 homeowners with more than $18 million worth of repairs. During this 20th anniversary year, RTP anticipates continued growth in its activities and looks to a new leader to propel the organization forward strategically. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, self-directed, energetic, flexible, and creative. He or she will be a collaborator with the ability to engage a diverse group of stakeholders. He or she will be a leader who can positively impact both strategic and tactical initiatives with the ability to work with a board and staff in articulating and refining RTP's vision and strategies. He or she will exhibit a strong management style with excellent team-building skills while determining new approaches to enhance program impact, operational efficiency, and organizational development. He or she will be able to serve as the public face for the organization with grace and authenticity.
In addition:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent is required; an advanced degree is strongly preferred
- Minimum 5 years' management experience with strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and working in partnership with boards of directors
- Demonstrated experience in fund raising and nonprofit fiscal management and planning
- Experience in conducting marketing and publicity campaigns
- Experience in developing community partnerships and collaborations; strong existing relationships with civic, business, and community leaders is a plus
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, excellent oral presentation and written skills
- Knowledge of housing and construction preferable, but not required
Other Requirements
- Must have own transportation/ability to visit different communities throughout the greater Philadelphia region
- Must have the flexibility to be available on evenings and weekends
