| Get yourself to a newsstand and buy a copy of the September issue of Popular Mechanics. In it, you'll find an eight-page advertorial about RTP. It highlights the special "Go Green" Block Build, which took place on Garfield Street in Germantown in June. We think it does an excellent job of telling homeowner stories as well as highlighting the products used to boost the block's energy efficiency. You can also read more here and listen to the My Fix It Up Life podcast. |
Be part of history. This year, RTP volunteers will help our 1000th homeowner by making critical repairs, including energy efficiency upgrades OR by providing home modifications to help someone live independently OR by making improvements for a family to have a healthy home. Proceeds from Run to Rebuild—a 5K Race/2 Mile Walk—will support that 1000th house. Register at www.rebuildingphilly.org/runtorebuild.htm and be at Forbidden Drive and Northwestern Avenue by 8:30 AM on September 12. |
On July 31, RTP's Board of Directors announced the 2009-2010 Volunteer Awards to recognize the extraordinary contributions of 14 individuals and 3 groups. The recipients stood out among the 900 volunteers who lent their time, talent, and muscles because they went "Above and Beyond" in some special way. Want to be inspired? Check out each person's story. P.S. We know this misses about 886 people—many, many thanks to all of our volunteers! |
