CFLs require 75% less electricity than conventional incandescents to produce the same amount of light. Integral to RTP's home repair projects is emphasizing home safety, including fall prevention. Falls are the number one cause of in-home, accidental deaths for older adults. To help reverse this trend and other issues, RTP volunteers install grab bars in bathrooms, handrails on both sides of stairways, chair risers, lever door handles, proper security locks, hand-held shower heads, lowered cabinetry, etc. Learn more about RTP's home modifications projects. |
