- HGTV's on-line voting campaign was a forum for regional exposure and engagement for RTP. Mayor Michael A. Nutter and Representative Tony Payton, Jr. spoke at the Opening Ceremony along with other special guests.
- HGTV hosts Carter Oosterhouse and Monica Pedersen captured public attention, which led new recruits to work alongside seasoned volunteers.
- HGTV's financial resources enabled RTP to go beyond its usual focus on essential repairs and improve every inch of the house. RTP enlisted the Building & Construction Trades Council to recruit skilled volunteers from every trade.
- HGTV invited Warriors' Watch and A Hero's Welcome to escort the current residents to the "Big Reveal." Airman Patrick Conners, Army Sergeant First Class raised an American flag, previously flown over the Capitol and provided by Senator Arlen Specter.
- HGTV filmed the volunteers in action. On November 11, 2009, HGTV will air American Heroes, featuring the veterans' housing projects undertaken by Rebuilding Together Philadelphia and by Rebuilding Together St. Louis. Watch and gain insight into the magic that happens when people use RTP as an outlet for their kindness.
