Back to work for Philly non-profit that helps low-income homeowners (KYW 1060)

Saying Goodbye to Bill Wilken

Rebuilding Together Philadelphia recently said goodbye to Bill Wilken, a devoted, longtime [Re]Builder, who is making the big move to Minneapolis. Through the years, Bill has contributed his time, skills, and energy at FORTY(!) Rebuilding Days! “If this wasn’t such a great organization, I wouldn’t have loved volunteering for it so much. By great, I mean the people and the rewarding work.” We will miss Bill, but his impact remains for the homeowners with whom he has volunteered. Thank you, Bill!

Homeowner Spotlight - Carrie B.

Imagine having no running water in your kitchen. What if you had to crawl up and down your stairs because you were disabled and had no railing to prevent a fall? Homeowner Carrie B. has lived in her home for 33 years but hadn’t entered her kitchen for many of them. She had cabinets but no money to install them. Suffering from heart disease and diabetes, Ms. B. could not maintain safe and healthy home repairs.
