We spotted lots of teaching moments happening at our Fall Block Build, including a drywall lesson, power tool instruction, and hands-on training for students from several high schools and colleges (Edison High School, Project WoW, Randolph Career and Technical High School, and Temple OT students). Thank you to our dedicated skilled leaders (aka "red shirts") that take extra time to share their knowledge. Thanks also to returning volunteer groups: Bike & Build, BNY Mellon, Independence Blue Cross, Provato Construction, Toll Brothers, The Transition Network and Wells Fargo Housing Foundation. What's that old adage? Give a volunteer a paintbrush, and she will have a fun day. Teach a volunteer to use power tools, and she will come back to volunteer again (or something like that?!). This is the third year we have collaborated with Community Partner APM in Eastern North, where neighbors have an ongoing commitment to maintain and improve their community. Our Block Build included a few new volunteer groups and sponsors, including AgustaWestland, Clean Air Council and Univest Bank & Trust Co.
