“All my best experiences have revolved around making strong connections with the homeowners that we serve. I try to be an advocate for them and to get to know each individual person and meet them at that human level."
Danielle Landy has been the RTP AmeriCorps Outreach and Logistics Coordinator since last August. Danielle has served three terms of AmeriCorps service and is intensely committed to developing communities and creating positive, long-term solutions through her work. During her time at Rebuilding Together Philadelphia she has coordinated the outreach, volunteer engagement and logistical elements of homeowner rebuilding projects. She is dedicated to each and every one of the RTP homeowners, striving to make connections at a personal level that go beyond their physical homes. Reflecting on the past 11 months, Danielle was reminded of one particular special moment, “Letitia Fletcher walked through the inside of her house for the first time at the end of the block build, she squeezed my hand and we just smiled at each other for a long time. There were no words needed.”
Even though her time at RTP is coming to an end, she is just beginning her journey to create positive change for others. Danielle has certainly touched many homeowners and we know that they will miss her as will all of us at RTP.
