Spotlight on North Opal Street Homeowners: Darieka Avery and Rashad Jenkins

December 13, 2016

“RTP’s work helps build community pride and lasting bonds between neighbors.”

Darieka Avery and her husband, Rashad Jenkins, were one of fifteen homeowners helped from West Oak Lane last June. Ms. Avery said that the electrical and structural repairs completed by RTP, made her home safer and healthier for her three daughters. Since Ms. Avery suffers from epilepsy, she was especially grateful to the volunteers for installing three grab bars in her bathroom. Ms. Avery also appreciates the impact that the build had on her block. She is proud of her home and feels closer with her neighbors. he would like to thank everyone that donated to RTP on Giving Tuesday and this holiday season because without the support of donors and volunteers she would not have been able to afford these critical repairs.
