Volunteer Spotlight: Dawn Anderson

November 27, 2018

Meet Dawn Anderson, homeowner and volunteer! Dawn recently volunteered at the Kensington Block Build and is a homeowner whom RTP worked with during the North Fairhill St. Block Build in 2016.

Dawn is grateful for the work done in her home, especially in her kitchen because she loves to cook and bake. She is a professional baker at Tiffany’s Bakery, which has donated cakes and pastries to RTP in the past. “I also love sending over treats to the staff and volunteers just to show how much I appreciate all the effort that goes into a Block Build.”

Dawn decided to volunteer after seeing the work that went into a Block Build. “This Build, I learned how to put together flower boxes. It was also great seeing how something as small as putting a flower box in front of someone's home brought a smile to their face! Also, I loved learning how to use tools properly from trained people who also help RTP.”

Dawn says that RTP means so much to her. “Not only did I get to meet some great people, but they truly help people. This experience was great and hopefully I’ll volunteer next year. Thank you to the entire RTP staff. You guys are the greatest!”
