Meet Vanessa Wallace-Tervalon, a homeowner we are working with this June in the Haddington neighborhood. Mrs. Wallace-Tervalon has lived in her home for 18 years. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 40 years.
Originally from Philadelphia, Mrs. Wallace-Tervalon has lived in 21 countries, including Spain - which was her favorite.
In her spare time, Mrs. Wallace-Tervalon stays involved in her community by helping to keep the block clean, volunteering to feed the homeless and serving on ACHIEVEability’s Neighborhood Advisory Sub-Committee.
When asked what she loves most about her home, she says: “The people are friendly and the convenience of public transportation,” although she tries to walk at least two miles per day. She also adds that she is excited about receiving home repairs and meeting new people during the Block Build.
Since being retired, her home has experienced some wear and tear. On June 7th and 8th, RTP [Re]Builders will be making critical repairs for Mrs. Wallace-Tervalon to include:
Repairing a small section of damaged ceiling in the front bedroom
Removing carpet and replacing it with vinyl plank flooring in the hallway, dining room and living room
Replacing the kitchen base cabinet
