Homeowner Spotlight - James and Anne Williams

"The new walk-in shower and grab bars have made bathing easier for my wife. And the flooring in my bedroom and bathroom have helped my ability to walk around." - James Williams

James and Anne Williams are pillars of their Haddington neighborhood. They have owned their Robinson Street home for 44 years and care for their 12-year-old grandson. Mr. Williams has mobility issues due to arthritis and Mrs. Williams suffers from COPD.

Over the years, the Williams’ home had experienced significant wear and tear. This past June, RTP [Re]Builders provided the following modifications and repairs to improve the couple’s mobility and respiratory health:

  • Installed handrails and an additional grab bar in the basement;

  • Removed the damaged tile floor;

  • Repaired the subfloor and installed new vinyl plank flooring in the bathroom;

  • Installed CO detectors in the basement and 2nd floor hallway;

  • Made occupational therapy assessments and accommodations; and

  • Converted the bathtub to a walk-in shower.
