Our Goal.
We aim to reduce the factors that can provoke asthma and other breathing conditions for adults and children.
What We Do.
On an ongoing basis, our in-house staff and volunteers work together to provide repairs to reduce asthma triggers.

What Repairs Address.
1. Excess moisture leads to mold and respiratory issues
2. Pest droppings can contribute to asthma
3. Dust and allergens trigger COPD and asthma
Why It Matters.
A startling 25% of children living in poor neighborhoods in Philadelphia have asthma. Reducing the asthma triggers in the home can have a monumental impact on the health of residents.
Health hazards disproportionately affect low-income families who tend to live in older, physically compromised housing. School and work absences due to asthma symptoms result in more than 10 million missed school and workdays a year. The Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America ranked Philadelphia as the third most challenging place in the U.S. to live with asthma.
RTP was awarded a contract of close to $500,000 by the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to make repairs to 30 homes for children with severe asthma.
