Weatherization Program – provides free weatherization and energy-efficiency improvements to owner-occupied homes. Services include air-sealing measures; window and door repair or replacement: wrapping hot water-heaters, heating pipes and ducts; sealing basement openings, crawlspaces and chase ways; insulating and air-sealing of roof area; repair and efficiency modifications to central heating systems. Basic Systems Repair Program - for homeowners only – Repairs include: Electrical;plumbing; Roof (leak must be causing severe damage); Walls/dangerous structural problems. Call 215.448.2160

Adaptive Modification Program - Only provides individuals with permanent disabilities free adaptations to their household for easier access and mobility. Modifications such as stairway elevators, installations of first-floor bathrooms, railings, widened doorways, and accessible kitchens are on the list of improvements. All ages apply. Heater Hotline - Provides eligible single-family homeowners with free repairs on all types of heating systems. Call 215.609.1443

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia

Habitat for Humanity Philadelphia is a nonprofit who provides home repairs in several areas of the city to low-income homeowners. Call to see what areas that are currently serving. They are mostly limited to North and West Philadelphia.

Homeownership Program - Habitat homes are affordable due to zero-interest mortgages, volunteer labor and community support. The selection process, building of the home, and sweat equity can take up to 24 months.

Weatherization and Home Repair (WHRP) - Expands on Habitat’s homeownership program to provide critical home repair, weatherization and façade improvement services to low-income homeowners in Philadelphia.

Re-Store - Second-hand retail outlet open to the public to shop for quality donated home furnishings, furniture, and building supplies at a fraction of the original cost, with all revenue going directly back into Habitat Repair Programs for low-income households.

Inglis House

Provides home repairs and modifications to help seniors age in place. Repairs are only available for those who live or work in 19104, 19121, 19131, 19132, and 19139 zip codes.  The Inglis House also provides Aging in place repairs or homeowner 62+.
